Bike Scrappage Scheme - Old Bikes for Pumpkins

Damp roads with mild conditions made a welcome change from last weeks washout.

Ian, Frank, Jo, Mike, Pete, Harriet, Maria and Richard joined me for the shorter ride to Tulleys Farm.

Shorter - in this case - took in Redhill Aerodrome, Outwood, the Windmill and almost one complete Horne Loop. Next the very quiet Dowlands and Effingham Lanes, across the A264 onto Turners Hill Road. Finally a cut across Wallage Lane and up to Tulleys Farm.

The courtyard is now covered by a humungous marqee while the goats seem to have been... er... retired for now. They also seemed to have over-stocked for Hallowe'en as you can see from the picture!

We took the more direct route back, down Old Hollow, through Copthorne and Smallfield, over M23 and up Hathersham Lane.

We arrived back at the Angel just past midday having covered 32 miles at 14 mph according to Ian.

Many thanks to Frank for expert backmarking and to all for making a great morning ride. Finally, thanks also to the weather gods for holding back that rain to the afternoon.
