Another good turnout at the park, partly because it was so wet on Saturday and the Sunday forecast was glorious. Jacquie and Alan set off with more than a dozen to Compton leading the Social Ride.
Geoff Clifton suggested we take the fast riders (nine of us) West and over Leith Hill on a wonderful scenic route; we hardly saw any cars. This was a non stop, no tea break ride but we still managed to make it sociable on the easier stretches.
It was good to see Chris Stone back on his bike; he was flying as if he'd been in secret training! Tim Sales held on well as did Martin Bell and Kevin Greene. This was a walk in the park of course for Simon Deefholts and Damon Crawshaw.
As always, a delight to ride with this exciting and competent team. This time about 40 miles at 16.5mph average.
Next Sunday, Geoff suggests a quick trip down to Ditchling. No doubt he'll have us racing up the Beacon as well. Join us for a real leg stretcher!
