Just when I thought the roadies were breaking all the records, RICHARD STERRY takes on the most gruelling off-road challenge: The South Downs Double, 200 miles, in baking heat in less than 24 hours...and he did it convincingly, in 23 hours and 31 minutes!
The planning was meticulous, the training uncompromising and when we went to see him at Saddlescombe, with 35 miles to go, he was exhausted but managed the biggest smile that said it all.
WELL DONE RICHARD FROM ALL OF US. THAT IS A RESULT WHICH WILL PROBABLY REMAIN UNBEATEN AT REDHILL FOR MANY, MANY YEARS.
