A perfect ride to Cranleigh

The beautiful autumn weather gave a perfect setting for the intermediate ride. Despite it being rather fresh in temperature, 8 riders braved the first real cold morning of the year to follow our illustrious Chairman through the quite Surrey lanes to Cranleigh.

On the way out Graham ensured the group paced the ride to about 14 mph. However, Russell punctured and the delay caused Nick & I to be seriously late for our weekly intake of cakes! The pace had to be increased and after covering 27 miles we arrived in plenty of time for copious amount of cake and hot chocolate!

Graham noticed our diet and led us a slightly lumpy way back to make up for it. We arrived back at the Angel around 12.30 having covered a total of 44 miles with a higher than average 15.6 mph-knew the cakes we good!! Russell even managed to stay upright on his bike!

This Saturdays ride will cover the same sort of mileage and have a tea stop East of Redhill. Should any one fancy clocking up a few extra miles a magical mystery tour could unravel after tea to give a total ride of 60-65 miles. We ride at the groups pace and no-one gets left behind.

Big Vin

(note from Russell...very sorry I won't be able to join you for the next few weekends as I'm away doing Jack Sparrow impersonations. If the weekly reports get dull here, I'll send something hair raising from the high seas!!)
