22 of us met at Reigate Hill. It was a really bright sunny morning which seemed so welcome after all the rain and gloom of recent months. We went past Colley Hill, over the M-Way,across the golf Course,up Tye Lane, around the edge of Headley Heath and past Nower Wood Nature reserve. The ground had really started to dry out at last and this enabled faster progress instead of having to plough through deep mud or battling against wheel-spin. Across the Mickleham Downs and past the base of Box Hill where Sue turned off to do a shorter ride.
The rest of us carried on with the now familiar loop around Ranmore passing this point again later. We went through the subway, past the railway station, up Crabtree Lane and across to Great Bookham. We then turned towards Polesden Lacey and into Connicut Lane and down through Bagden Farm. Back down the road to Westhumble and up to the Cafe at the top of Box Hill.
The route back was along the road past Box Hill village, turning left past the Stables, missing out the hilly sections across Headley. Back across the Golf course to Reigate Hill. Total distance about 23 miles. No incidents other than just one puncture and a bike rear alignment problem.
