Reigate Hill to Bocketts Farm

A dry day beckoned and 20 keen riders made it to Reigate Hill for the start. After a short pep talk about keeping the group together we set off along the ridge and over Banstead common. The trails were firm with a slight film of mud making them fast in most places but slippery in others.

Down the track to No Home farm, then across and up to the top of Stane Street. Following the roller coaster sections we encountered our only puncture. Stopping at the cross roads along Stane Street for the mechanics to catch up, we came across Jon and Alan on a ride from Newlands Corner. Seizing the opportunity they are now leading next weeks ride using their same route.

Finishing off Stane Street we skirted around the bottom of Box Hill to head up Crabtree Lane. Enjoying the final decent to Bocketts Farm we heartily tucked into their Mars Bar cake.

The return route was more direct aiming for Headley then back to Reigate Hill.

Next Week’s RideOn Saturday 26th May, the ride will start at Newlands Corner on the A25 on the way to Guildford, and will finish at Reigate Hill. To get to Newlands Corner, either join the early morning fast ride from Reigate Hill to Newlands Corner, or take the train to Guildford and ride up the 3 miles to Newlands Corner. The train leaves Redhill at 08:34 and Reigate at 08:38 to arrive in Guildford at 09:07.
