Alex's ride from Limpsfield

On a Cracking Autumnal morning 23 riders turned up to play on and around the Greensand ridge to Toys Hill and back. With an opening loop up on to the north downs via Titsey. Hi to Phil's mates Paul and Tony who being local new all the delights in store i.e. some long up hills and steep flowing descents.

Limpsfield common was the start and we managed to fill up the car park. The first hurdle being to traverse around a massive boggy puddle (marked as a ford on the map) at the beginning of the Titsey assent. Taking in a route through/over The Chart, Crockham Hill, Mariners Hill. We invaded the NT tearooms at Chartwell to raid their cake selection, some disappointment in the ranks as soup and hot stuff wasn't on the menu until 12.

Heading past the 'gangsters' grave we began the climb to Toys Hill. At the top are massive views along to the N downs, Leith hill and the Devils punch bowl to reward your efforts. 2 punctures 2 broken chains and one mangled rear mech later dropping into the weald with one last testing climb a slightly depleted group headed home.
