I thought a new start point may see the resent numbers dwindle, but how wrong I was when 21 members turned up for a new ride from Leigh just south of Reigate to Leith Hill. A somewhat flat start took us towards Holmwood common were at this point the wet weather over the past week kicked in. Mud Mud Mud made the riding difficult but everyone seemed to enjoy the terrain as we hit the top.
Over and across the A24 the route started to climb gradually up to Redlands Wood this continued for about a mile with a push up the last 100 meters to the top. We waited for the last two, then two became one as we lost John L with mechanicals so he headed for home.
The loop to Leith Hill went through Coldharbour with one final climb to the tower. A few more muddy trials on the way back Leigh made the going tough, although the riders were full of compliments; I think they all enjoyed it.
