Masters wins 2006 TT Scratch Competition

Jon Masters is the winner of Redhill CC's 2006 Time Trial Series Scratch competition! Scoring 115.5 points from his best 12 rounds, Masters was 25.5 points clear of Andy Marshall, who moved into second place only after the last round of the competition yesterday evening at Horne. Andrew Murray takes third place, narrowly beating Steve White by half a point into 4th. Steve Bryant was fifth, and the only other rider to compete in at least 12 rounds.

Other notable scores were achieved by Duncan Murdoch (61.5 pts from 7 rounds), George Roux (41 pts from 5 rounds), Paul Read (37 pts from 4 rounds) and Jed Rock (30 pts from 3 rounds). Next year the maximum number of counting rounds will be reduced to 10, or perhaps less, in order to draw more riders into the competition.

See here for a breakdown of the Scratch competition.

The next big time trialling event is the 25-mile Championship on 10th September, which should see a large number of entries from Redhill riders. Four weeks after that, on 8th October is the club hill climb championship (at Leith Hill) - please make a note in your diary and come along to support, if not to ride!
