The ride from Outwood started at 10am with just six people and four
bikes,Steve and Barbara Walter and Alison and Darrell High turned up on
tandems.The Walter machine was fully decorated for the time of year
sporting
xmas tinsel,a father Christmas figure and boasting an on board stereo
system
playing xmas carols. Barbara and Steve were decorared in like
fashion.Billy
Weir joined us at the last minute,with puncture and having fixed that
we set
off.
I said six riders but it turns out Alison is six months pregnant and I
understand the trailer is on order.so the figure of six and
threequarters is
probably more accurate.
The ride was short and uneventful apart from Billies recurring puncture
which was finally fixed when the hole in the tyre was discovered by
Darrell,
as Billy had a spare tyre in his saddlebag the problem was solved,we
zigzagged our way up towards Oxted and back down through Lingfield back
to
Outwood.
The meal at The Bell was well attended and very well received,I Œm not
quite
sure what¹s going on in the club as I observed two more ladies are
pregnant
(Andrea and Laura ) you¹d think these men are knackered after all the
