Robin Buchan Memorial '25'

Jon Masters was the quickest Redhill CC rider in today's Robin Buchan Memorial time trial. Competing in his first '25' of the season, Masters sped round the course in 59m 13s for an average speed of just over 25mph.

Three other Redhill riders took part in the event: Claude Lhomme failed to match his previous week's time over the same course; Andrew Murray took almost a minute off his personal best for the course; and Richard Sanders was disappointed to have to retire after a puncture.

On a swelteringly hot morning all riders had to endure suffocating humidity, which sapped energy as well as any headwind could have.

The event, which was hosted by Norwood Paragon CC over the G25/53 course near Horsham, was won by Tim Stevens in 53m 56s.
