Paul Read made his debut in this year's time trial series with an impressive win in Round 7, held on Wednesday 15 June. Read, who is Redhill's current 50m champion, finished in 0:22:42, more than 2 minutes ahead of second placed Redhill rider Andrew Murray.
In the handicap competition, Mike Conway picked up the maximum ten points by beating his previous personal best by 21 seconds. He now moves into third place overall, behind André Roux and Steve White.
With the weekly Surrey League handicap races the following evening, many Redhill riders are chosing to forego the Wednesday evening time trial. Fortunately the large number of non-Redhill participants - including some brand new to cycle racing - has meant numbers have remained high each week.
