" I was first introduced to Redhill CC when I attended one of their club nights.
The first thing I noticed was how friendly the atmosphere was; there was
none of this 'competitiveness' that you see so often in clubs today.
Some of the members persuaded me to take part in a 'Club 10', the week
after the club night; to say I was nervous was an understatement. I
didn't know what to expect- this was the first time I had ever ridden a
racing bike on road. There was a huge amount of encouragement for me
from the members who were taking part. When I finished the time trial, I
felt a real sense of achievement. If it wasn't for joining Redhill CC, I
probably wouldn't have got into cycling the way I have"
